Talking objects running gag

Hello guys,

What do you think of the talking objects running gag during the show? I think the talking objects running gag started first in the episode Ripped Pants:

Spongebob: We blew it, pants.
Pants: What do you mean, "we"? [the pants walk off, leaving SpongeBob alone]



I think it appeared more in the post movie era:

House Fancy:

When Patrick used the toilet...
Toilet: Please, please, somebody put me out of my misery! [toilet jumps into Squidward's hands, coughing] Have mercy on my soul...! [toilet dies, then Patrick opens the door again]


Choir Boys:

*Squidward doesn't use the toilet*
*Toilet becomes sad*
Toilet Paper: Don't feel bad. He didn't use me yesterday either.


Growth Spout:

*Mr Krabs doesn't use the old cracker*
Old cracker: What am I, chopped liver?
Chopped liver: No, that's what I am. [rimshot]




Extreme Spots:

*After his pillow mate got beaten*
Pillow: Avenge me.
Mattress: Charlie! [Jumps into ring and smashes Johnny, then does it again 6 times more]




In my honest opinion some of them are funny (for example the ripped pants, the dying toilet, the boxing mattress etc) and some of them are awkward (for example the talking toilet and toilet paper duo). What do you guys think?

The entire "I'm Ready To Go To Work!" sequence in Truth or Sqaure has singing objects.

Or the singing tiki heads in "Squidward's Tiki Land" (I hope that was the name)... though I suppose one could write that off to a psylocyban-induced trip (halucinogenic mushrooms).

Indeed. There were also talking objects in Procrastination and InSPONGEiac (i don't know if these really counts because the talking objects in both episodes appeared in dreams).


Also in Roller Cowards ''the talking ice cream cone'' (probably the funniest and the most random) :P

When I first saw that part of Procrastination, it terrified me. Now I love it. I thought Stuck in the Wringer and Chpir Boys were creepy too.

In Growth Spout, after Mr. Krabs steals the food, the house says:
"Oh well. I needed to lose some weight anyway."
And in the Secret Box, it doesn't talk but it bends over really close to the secret box and then bends back.


A similar gag appeared in Funny Pants and A Friendly Game, which I'll post later.

Do you mean Oral Report? Because the goggles broke and the underwear started to give him hallucinations. So yeah, that counts.

That'd be the episode, yes! I just can't recall if the underwear talked or not.
