Steven Universe or Gravity Falls?

These shows are, without a doubt, the biggest and most successful children's cartoons of the decade. I probably didn't even need to point it out because they have such a huge presence, but the important question is... which one is better?



I love both shows to the point where I can't even properly express my love, but I find SU a bit better. I have a bit more of a connection to it despite starting it later than Gravity Falls. That being said, GF is still great, and you can argue that it's much more based on being funny than SU.

What do you guys think?
 
Gravity Falls was funnier, and I was along for the ride during almost all of the series' run, whereas I had to binge all of SU over a summer. (I saw the early eps from 2013-2014 though, i just lost interest after a while) I found the story more interesting and easy to run through because SU had so many episodes and took long to get to the point. I had a stronger connection with GF then but SU is still really great, I'm more into it now after GF ended :P

I sound so stupid above lol, it's hard to explain what I mean but both shows are some of my favorites ever, but GF really changed how I saw cartoons.
 
I like "Steven Universe", but there's a reason "Gravity Falls" is one of my favorite shows of all time as well as my favorite Disney show of all time.
 
I really love both shows but if I had to choose one it would have to be Steven Universe..
 
Honestly neither are even in the league of my favorite cartoons, but they're both alright...I guess I prefer Gravity Falls by a tiny margin, cause it just seemed more...right to me. Both shows are overrated, but not bad.

At least that's my opinion.

I would say Adventure Time and Regular Show have been more successful.
 
I like both, but not love both, and I do think they're both a bit overrated, but Gravity Falls is the better show IMO. Unlike most people though, this isn't my favorite Disney show (coughHouseofMousecoughTaleSpincough).
 
Both shows are very good. I'd consider them to be in the top 3 best along with, maybe Gumball or Adventure Time. Though, I'm gonna give the nod to Gravity Falls. It's a lot more intense. It's genuinely frightening at points. Steven Universe is extremely detailed and wonderfully crafted, but that's where it lost it for me. It's pretty complicated, and I don't really want to get that invested to a cartoon. Though that's from a subjective point of view.

From an objective side, I'd say SU is probably better because it's writing is more thorough. You can see how much attention to detail is put into each story arc and each characters, it's incredible how elaborate it is. Gravity Falls is just more of my cup of tea. Mysteries, monsters, demons, interdimensional kerfuffles, etc. It's a lot more fun.

tbh, they have beeing getting less and less attention than GF and SU. It's not just ratings. More people talk about GF and SU.



Back on topic, I love both of these shows so much but I have to go with Gravity Falls. It was just everything I wanted it to be. It includes all genres I adore. Steven Universe is also great but it does take more time to get into plots and develop character, which isn't a bad thing but GF has always been more fun and wacky to me.
 
The Amazing World of Gumball. I love it a lot as you can tell by me making almost every single one of my profile pics a scene from the show and I have no plans of dropping it anytime soon. Also it's actually funny, something SU doesn't have (peridot spazzing out isn't funny or cute, it's annoying), but SU has Lapis and Gumball doesn't <3

Gumball > GF > SU

(I kinda feel like I'm in the minority for preferring Gumball over the two giants)

nothing against GF or anything but I honestly feel like it's a bit overrated... then again I also think Steven Universe and Adventure Time are so I'm gonna shut up now
