SpongeBob's never getting back to Pre-Movie quality or that feel ever again lmao dunno why people are so adamant about that happening
Steve Hillenburg could run the show and bring back the exact same staff and the show still wouldn't be the same because it's been ELEVEN YEARS since that crew has been together and too much has changed in the music and identify of the show in general
If we're being honest Steve being back honestly isn't going to make too huge of a difference
We had a whole half-classic season without Steve, Steve wasn't the reason Pre-Movie was successful, Steve in tandem with a bunch of people that shared his ideas was the reason that it worked. Paul for the most part of his Post-Season 5 tenure didn't have that and never really got it until Marc Ceccarelli, Luke Brookshier, and Mr. Lawrence started writing together. A lot of elements worked against him because his team of writers treaded the line of mediocrity so often. Absolutely no offense meant to them, that's just how I and a lot of others feel.
This is like Paul's second shot, a chance to maintain a consistent staff, this time full of names that have some weight in the animation industry. A team with Steve and a lot of other important names might've been just what Paul needs in order to have a crew he can work with to effectively deliver the funny.
Hillenburg or not, the show will go on and one man cannot change things. It's the team, and Tibbitt is competent enough to be able to have a good show with a good team that's Hillenburg free, I think.
The thing is though, he's got Hillenburg on his side this time. Which means that we might just be in for a treat once we hit our stride.
