I thought this was an interesting comparison. I guess the episodes aren't the most similar, but they both involve SpongeBob getting stuck in a cave trying to survive. I actually used to get these two episodes confused. I still get parts of the episodes confused at times. The episodes both featuring him in a cave throws me off. And they both premiered on the SAME day too, which made it even more confusing for me. Also, fans don't seem to be too fond of these episodes. SpongeHenge is more hated, while To Save a Squirrel seems more forgotten.


Which episode do you prefer?
And have you mixed these two episodes up before? How so if you did?
 
I prefer SpongeHenge myself. I prefer it because it's different and weird compared to other episodes I guess. And the music in the episode is kinda cool. I don't think To Save a Squirrel is bad, but it is kind of forgettable to me. I don't think either episode is a masterpiece or anything.

But I hope I'm not mixing the episodes up again haha!
 
I never really thought of this. SpongeHenge would be better because it is a strange and random episode, and To Save a Squirrel would be better because of its humor and plot. Both were pretty fun episodes, but I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. My vote is SpongeHenge.
 
Ooh, what an interesting comparison. I liked "To Save A Squirrel" a lot more than "SpongeHenge", but that's mostly because the former had more humor and amusement than the latter. They both had very strange vibes going on, but "To Save A Squirrel" plays them for comedy. I still do think that "SpongeHenge" is a masterclass in horror atmosphere though.

Great points! Both episodes feel a lot different than other episodes at the time. But To Save a Squirrel focuses more on comedy, while SpongeHenge focuses more on being surreal.

Great points! I never thought about the two episodes having different tones: comedic and surreal.
 
I voted for SpongeHenge.

SpongeHenge was a strange and horrifying episode. Despite it being more disliked compared to To Save a Squirrel by many fans, I found it more memorable. There were some things I actually liked about SpongeHenge, like the Diner appearing again and SpongeBob using himself as a musical instrument in the beginning of the episode. So yeah, for better or for worse, despite SpongeHenge’s notorious ending, it stood out to me more than the other episode, so it gets my vote by default.

To Save a Squirrel was forgettable. Rewatching it, I was like “Oh yeah, this episode exists.” Its approach compared to SpongeHenge was more comedic, though it wasn’t very good at it. I never found To Save a Squirrel funny. The “eat or be eaten” parts to me were more cringe than funny. It was one of those episodes where the humor was a hit or miss, mostly a miss in this case.

Wow, I'm surprised that SpongeHenge is winning by a landslide since it's pretty hated by fans. I was thinking that the results would be closer, but I still had a feeling SpongeHenge would be winning. But I didn't expect it to have a strong lead.
