It's 4:33 AM here In San Diego, I don't know why I'm up so early but I guess I will make a topic on something very cool I came across.

A lot of people are wondering what SpongeBob looked like in 1999 with that Nickelodeon oval screen bug at the bottom of the screen. Well, I'm going to show you guys.

I came across a recording of "Sandy's Rocket/Squeaky Boots" from 1999. I posted on YouTube a little video of it showing the screen bugs. After posting it, I have gotten a bunch of requests from people to send me the episodes to them. So here is the video right here, I hope you do enjoy it.

Please note that the actual recording is cut off a minute, so the title card is from a 2000 airing of the episode I found online.
 
Look at that VHS quality. This is what TV looked like, or it's like it more because of the recording?

I mean, the video was interesting.

The recording I think. The actual TV quality was better.

Actually, according to my "First 100 Episodes" DVD (which tells the original release date for all the episodes from seasons 1-5), both episodes aired together on September 17th, 1999. o.o

The guy who I got these from says they are from the original airing. That's what he told me. I am terribly sorry for putting that out there, I might as well go ahead and edit the post above. Heck, I never noticed that in the recording.

Again, terribly sorry about the misunderstanding on my part.
