Didn't know where else to put this, so I'm posting it here. I had the idea to host this map after someone in one of my Discord groups said "You know what I wanna do one day? I wanna do a SpongeBob reanimated collab." and so I started this to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

MAP = Multi-Animator Project (an animation made up of tiny parts animated by different people)

A recreation of the pilot, "Help Wanted" and "Reef Blower" done in various animation styles by us fans. There are about 4 people finished with their parts already, but we still need more animators (skill not necessarily required). More "Help Wanted", pun intended :nards:. Anyone can participate, even if you aren't the best at animation or drawing. More info such as requirements and how to participate can be found on the video, in the comments section, and the official Discord server for the project. :sbthumbs:

I’ll join. Never been much of an animator myself, but I’ve been analysing the techniques for years now and feel like throwing my hat into the ring.
I’ll think about the “we’ll give you a test” part.

Yeah, same with me. I thought this would be a fun project to do with other fans of SpongeBob and friends. If you do want to animate, I recommend joining the Discord group if you can so it can be organized more: https://discord.gg/Gj4FRg9

I might join. Just to show off my crude art.

Does anyone know any good, free, animation software?

BTW the discord invite is invalid for me.

I made a new Discord invite, try to see if this works. https://discord.gg/nC2vcXy

I can remember in like 6th grade or so I used to animate in MS paint, paint.net, and Windows Movie Maker. My friend recently started learning how to use OpenToonz, and he recommends that. I use Adobe Animate, which isn't free, but has a less steep learning curve compared to things like Toon Boom. Another free program I recommend from experience is FireAlpaca. I think you can make animations with it, but I plan to use it to make backgrounds. Heard a few things about Krita, but I've never tried it.

This does sound like an awesome project :D I don't have time to try it myself but I'm definitely excited to see how it turns out

I would give it a try but my art is god awful. This is an awesome project though and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

An awesome idea to celebrate 20th anniversary! I have no animation skills, so I can't help much, but I wish this project luck!

I've actually been thinking of doing this for a while now (Made my own Discord for it and everything lol), but I was very hesitant to go through with it because I didn't know if people would be interested, and because I've never done something that big before.

So I'm pretty glad I'm not the only one who thought of this, and heck yeah I'll join! :sbthumbs:
