This is pretty big rumor I thought it to until I started digging its just that steve and Derek Never wanted to do any more SpongeBob

The information you mentioned is not accurate. The "SpongeBob movie" is indeed considered canon in the SpongeBob SquarePants series. The movie was co-written by a team of writers, including Stephen Hillenburg (the creator of SpongeBob) and Derek Drymon. They were actively involved in the production of the film. While it is true that Hillenburg initially intended for the movie to be the series finale, he later decided to continue creating new episodes after its success. Thus, several more seasons and spinoffs of SpongeBob SquarePants were produced.

I never said it was non-canon More like Not the series' final it was not a canonical finale To the show its just his final project as he felt he was done How is not accurate went Its from Vincent waller and paul tibbit

Btw I don't Think the movie Is non-canon Its just not A finale Vincent debunked this on Twitter Spongebob just doesn't have a timeline

Stephen Hillenburg wanted to end the show

Nickelodeon/Paramount (Viacom) wanted to continue the show

Because they saw the movie as an opportunity to raise SpongeBob SquarePants' popularity

To them the film was treated as a launching pad
Well Stephen And Derek felt they were done with the show But you're kinda right

Yep

Nick and Paramount (Viacom) are the ones who wanted to keep going not Hillenburg and Drymon

They wanted to turn SpongeBob SquarePants into a merchandising juggernaut and felt the first movie was the greatest opportunity to do so!
Yep But some writers Were okay with it like paul But Stephen still reviewed the episode but the nick THING is Spot on

In my opinion, the movie isn't the end, considering how there are later episodes that shows post movie characters that recognize the main characters (for example: Bubble Buddy, Bubble Bass, and Doodlebob) and to say that those events to place before the movie (or pre movie for that matter) wouldn't make sense for the canonical wise.

Heck, Plankton escaped jail several times throughout the post movie episodes and it could be fair to say that Krabby Road would take place after the movie considering that one of the reasons why Plankton was arrested (aside from enslaving Bikini Bottom) was because he stole the Secret Formula.
