As a quality specialist I tend to over examine things, my wife and friends hate it. I believe it was in "Truth or Square" when Spongebob and Sandy got married then afterwards it is disclosed it was a play but the preacher said "I did not know". So if the preacher married them in earnest, wouldn't they be married?

and on the topic of goof ups within the show, nowadays things like these happen (in the show)..... indeed it was funny that the preist didn't know, but it also does show the error of the practicality of that. Had the priest been unaware of the fact that it was a play, and just kept going with the rites or whatever, we would probably see an episode celebrating the recently wed Sandy SquarePants. :p

And feel free to create a topic in the introduction section to kind of christen yourself with us. :)

That Story was a play. Welcome Conrads. Greetings From Apple World!
*Yes E.V.I.L, I did it before you did :D*

Me and a friend have talked about this one quite a bit... the only thing I could think of is that we don't really know what the laws are in Bikini Bottom, so there is no way of actually knowing if the marriage was valid or not.

I thought this for a while and was so happy, because this meant Patrick was related to Sandy! (Patrick cousin to Gary, Gary pet to Spongebob, Spongebob wife to Sandy.) yes. BUT THEN MY FAMILY HAS TO DESTROY MY HAPPINESS, GLEE, AND SMILING FROM THE PERFECT SPANDY MOMENT BY SAYING THAT THEY NEEDED TO DO PAPERWORK! Way to kill the show, fam.

Of course there have been some good episodes after Truth or Square that have some Spandy moments in them. I can think of three. Perfect Chemistry, Mooncation and my current favorite Squirrel Record. Another thing I didn't like about season 6 was the fact that there were no Spandy episodes. Sandy has become the most ignored/forgotten character of the whole show. Anyone else agree?

Yeah, this is what I thought about the marriage. My parents told me that you usually have to go down to court to make it official, but this could or be a law in Bikini Bottom.
