I created a SpongeBob Characters Questionnaire thread. Here, you answer 15 questions as it relates to the characters that have been on SpongeBob SquarePants.

SpongeBob SquarePants has had all kinds of interesting characters, such as:

The Main Characters (the ones who are usually always appearing on the show like SpongeBob, Gary, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Pearl, Plankton, Karen, and Mrs. Puff)

The Recurring Characters (the ones who don’t appear as often as the main characters but appear on the show on occasions like SpongeBob’s parents, Larry the Lobster, Squilliam, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, Man Ray, Dirty Bubble, King Neptune, and Bubble Bass)

The One-Episode Characters (the characters who appeared in one SpongeBob episode, were relevant as it related to that one episode’s plot, and then were never seen in the show again such as Sergeant Roderick, the Warden, Captain Frostymug, Stanley S. SquarePants, Ms. Gristlepuss, Jack Kahuna Laguna, Kenny the Cat, etc)

The Background Characters (the characters who typically hardly contribute to the plot, and are just there as part of the background reacting to what’s going on and having a few lines like the many Bikini Bottom citizens, Rock Bottom citizens, New Kelp City citizens, Krusty Krab customers, etc)

The shrimp. I know he appears in more than one episode, but he's mostly remembered from episode 41a.

Obviously, going to have to go with Incidental 1. Incidental 6 is a close follow-up though.

SpongeBob SquarePants.

Pearl Krabs.

Squidward (bb and mm if they both were included though)

Mr.Krabs he's kinda greddy

Nosefuratu its one of the nostalgia gags I dislike

#8: Who is your least favorite one-episode character?
That cephalopod lodge leader I just dislike the reason why Squidward couldn't go back.

#9: Who is your least favorite background character?
I don't really dislike any of them but I would have to go for that Octopus Mother in Sailor mouth there's nothing wrong with her but if shes an octopus and Squidward is an octopus then whos the actual octopus???

10: Who is your least favorite character out of the entire SpongeBob cast?
Bubblebass I hate him but he is kinda of funny.

#11: What character(s) were you not fond of at first but have grown on you?
Pearl I didn't care about her when watching the show but now I kinda like her.

#12: What character(s) did you used to like, but over time, you now like less?
I can't say maybe Patrick? He wasn't a very good friend to SpongeBob even in seasons 1-3

#13: Say you are living in the SpongeBob universe, what character(s) would you want to be friends with?
Sandy and the flying Dutchman

Plankton and Spongebob

Time to answer to the thread I started.

#1: Squidward Tentacles because I relate to him a lot.

#2: Man Ray because he has a cool design and has had entertaining moments like in one episode he got addicted to eating Krabby Patties.

#3: The Warden, he’s funny and has a funny face too. I remember when he realized the inmates were trying to escape, upon noticing, he shouted “WHAT THE!?” That made me laugh a lot. I have noticed they have brought back a lot of characters lately for nostalgia reasons. I think there are still some characters out there who haven’t returned like JKL.

#4: Tom, also known as the Chocolate Guy. I understand his chocolate addiction and this guy has always made me laugh so much.

#5: I need to clarify on this one. It seems like asking the first question again, but I decided to add it to the questionnaire because Question 5 includes all the characters combined; the Main Characters, Recurring Characters, One-Episode Characters, and Background characters. Maybe your favorite main character is not necessarily your most favorite SpongeBob character out of all the characters in history combined. Who knows. For me, I still say Squidward even though a lot of background characters are so funny.

#6: Mrs. Puff, even in the early episodes she was kinda meh to me. I don’t dislike her or anything, I just find all the other main characters more interesting.

#7: Kevin the sea cucumber. He used to be a one-episode character years ago and now they brought him back. I’m not the type of guy that goes “I hate that guy” but I was never a fan of Kevin. I think it’s because he reminds me of some people I knew from middle school. The ones how try to belittle others.

#8: It was initially Craig Mammalton because he was a jerk for picking on people who didn’t want to tan. I think they brought him back for Kamp Koral now. So he may not be a one-episode character anymore if he appears on the main SpongeBob show again. Other than him, I don’t like Le Spatula.

#9: I guess Nancy Suzy Fish. She’s a real jerk. I remember when she told SpongeBob the pencil goes stuck inside your you know what and when she was rude to SpongeBob when Squidward was trying to teach them about musical instruments. Harold the blue fish is a jerk too, but Nancy seems like perhaps an even bigger one.

#10: As it relates to clarification, same reason as Question 5, except in this case it’s your least favorite character out of all the SpongeBob characters combined instead of your favorite character out of all the SpongeBob characters combined. For me, I will say Kevin the sea cucumber.

#11: Plankton and Karen. They weren’t among my favorite characters when I first watched the show, but now they are among my favorites. Also, I will say Pearl. I wasn’t a fan of her at first. But I like her, at least her potential. I feel sorry for her because Mr. Krabs can be so cheap towards her.

#12: I say Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff because of the ScumBob episodes where each of their character wasn’t portrayed very well. It was hard to see them the same after that.

#13: Being friends with SpongeBob is a no brainer for me, he is nice to everyone, even his biggest enemies. I’d also be friends with Sandy, she’s intelligent and is familiar with the field of science. Patrick if we’re not talking about the way he was portrayed in the ScumBob episodes. Also, Squidward because we share similar interests. I would also be friends with Old Man Walker, I feel sorry for him, but he’s friendly and he’s got a sense of humor. Larry the Lobster because we’d be bros and do gym together. Also, Fred because I feel sorry that he keeps injuring his leg. Karen because I am fascinated with technology, as for Plankton, I wouldn’t mind talking with him because he’s lonely a lot of times, but also, he’s pretty crazy at times as well so I might not be too close to him.

#14: I would avoid the Tattletale Strangler, Bubble Buddy, Nancy Suzy Fish, and the people that hang out at the Salty Spitoon. I don’t want to be around Harold either because he’s notorious for being “that blue fish that starts fights” like the “Big Meaty Claws” incident. Even though I like Tom the Chocolate Guy as a character, I would probably not want to be around him either because personality-wise he can snap at any moment.

#15: The character most similar to me personality-wise is Squidward. SpongeBob and Patrick are also similar to me in some ways.

#1: Who is your favorite main character?
SpongeBob and Gary are my favorites! I adore happy sunshine MCs, and then I just love Gary a whole bunch.

#2: Who is you favorite recurring character?
The Flying Dutchman

#3: Who is your favorite one-episode character?
The Warden probably. Though Sergeant Roderick is also up there. Clearly I've got a type of one-episode character haha.

#4: Who is your favorite background character?
Tom and Fred will always be my favorites.

#5: Who is your favorite character out of the entire SpongeBob cast?
Again, SpongeBob and Gary

#6: Who is your least favorite main character?
Patrick. Yeah, it's controversial, but Patrick is the character that works by himself the least frequently.

#7: Who is your least favorite recurring character?
This is really hard. Maybe Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy? But that sounds like sacrilege. Maybe Perch Perkins? But that doesn't feel right either.

#8: Who is your least favorite one-episode character?
I feel like I've just got finished reviewing a few episodes of these: the hippies in "There's a Sponge in my Soup" and the worm in "House Worming" are up there. Triton from "The Clash of Triton" gotta be up there as well. Puffy Fluffy wasn't great either.

#9: Who is your least favorite background character?
I definitely don't have one. Sure, Harold is an instigator, but he's hilarious so.

#10: Who is your least favorite character out of the entire SpongeBob cast?
Don't really have one. It would probably one of the least favorite one-off characters, but I'm not even sure about which one of those I like the least, so I couldn't tell you.

#11: What character(s) were you not fond of at first but have grown on you?
When I was younger, I used to say Karen and Pearl were my least favorites of the main cast. I've realized now that the dislike was simply misogyny lol, so now that I'm older, I can appreciate all they have to offer.

#12: What character(s) did you used to like, but over time, you now like less?
Patrick. He's always been one of the main cast members I didn't like as much, but I think as I've gotten older I've found him less funny.

#13: Say you are living in the SpongeBob universe, what character(s) would you want to be friends with?
I'll stick with main characters for ease. SpongeBob for sure, because he and I are really similar. Gary because he just seems chill. Sandy for sure, she also seems really fun. I'd vibe with Karen and Mrs. Puff too.

#14: Say you are living in the SpongeBob universe, what character(s) would you want to avoid or not be around?
Squidward, while he is dry like me, would start to annoy me because of how he can't be happy for anyone. Mr. Krabs would also be fun in terms of having someone to have a good laugh with, but I would never vibe with a business owner like him. Plankton would potentially backstab me any second, so not him. And then Patrick would just not be good company.

#15: What character do you think is most similar to you personality-wise?
Like I said above, SpongeBob. When I'm not being bogged down by life, I'm pretty happy and enthusiastic and optimistic. Also, SpongeBob gives AuDHD energy, and I have ADHD (and I'm starting to think I've got a lil more than just that, if you catch my drift). I also just really like spending time with my friends. I'd say I'm also pretty similar to Sandy, if only because we both have that mean lesbian vibe going on (yeah, this isn't the target audience for this joke, but it's still funny to me so).

Squidward although he is still my least-favorite character in SBSP

Patrick Star because his dumb schtick went from charming to annoying and has overstayed its welcome!
