Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has 4 animated shows - 1987, 2003, 2012 and Rise of the TMNT 2018.
How would you rank them from worst to best?
I have seen some of the 1987 show and now I am watching it and this show it really good and fun to watch.
I have never seen the 2003 show but I know it is supposed to be great
I have seen around a season of the 2012 show when it was airing and I really liked it but I don't know whether I would like it or not if I watch it now.
I have seen an episode of the 2018 show and didn't like it.

So for me it is
2018(can also not consider it)
2012
1987

Don't you like 2003 or it is just that 2012 and 1987 are better?
The one downside of the 2003 series, is how they made fun of the 1987 series in the Turtles Forever movie, which is why I ranked it so low.
I saw a few episodes of the 2018 series, and it felt mediocre comparing it to the first three...

When it comes to the TMNT cartoons, the earlier seasons of the 1987 series is the gold standard, while the later "red sky" seasons, which aired as part of CBS's Saturday Morning Action Zone cartoon block in the early-mid 1990s, were basically a way to cash in on the 1990 movie's popularity by making the cartoon dark and gritty (just like Batman: The Animated Series) with noticeable redesigns for the Turtles themselves, while incorporating footage of the first movie into the intro of the "red sky" seasons of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles along with a new theme song.

The 1987 series was also notable for being neutered of its violence in the UK and some other European countries back in the 1980s and 1990s, where they initially aired as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, since the word "ninja" (a type of Japanese shadow assassin clad in a dark mask and dark robes) has had violent connotations, as did the nunchuck weapons wielded by Michelangelo (which led to Michelangelo downplaying the use of his nunchucks as his primary weapon in favor of using a grappling hook in later seasons).

Those associations with violence no longer matter in modern day Europe and the UK, as those rules about cartoon violence put in place during the Margaret Thatcher era in the UK, they have been abolished by the 2000s.

The 2018 version of the cartoon did a great job capturing the Turtles' "teenage side," and making April and Casey Jones teenagers just like the Turtles, was a brilliant idea, plus it establishes that Splinter is the Turtles' father and ninjitsu teacher. Doing two crossovers with the 1987 TMNT was great, with 1987 Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady returning in the sequel!

Those crossovers with the 2012 Turtles did better justice to the 1987 Turtles than the Turtles Forever movie, which made the 1987 Turtles look inferior to the 2003 Turtles.

The Trans-Dimensional Turtles and Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady crossovers were TMNT crossovers done right, and they remind me of the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour Trilogy in their execution with a bit of Sonic Generations thrown in!

Wow, I didn't know all of this information, thanks!
Which seasons are the "red sky" seasons?

Seasons 8 through 10 of the 1987 series were the "red sky" seasons.
All three of those seasons aired from 1994 to 1996 and had this remixed intro:

idc what anyone says, 2018 is underrated af, sure it could have been a bit better, but it was sorta a breath of fresh air, kinda a new take of the ninja turtles. Its at least better than the loud house

My personal favorite is 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, especially the first 3 seasons of that show along with seasons 7 and 8. The 2003 and 2012 series were also pretty good as well, but the 1987 version is the one I have always liked the most. Since Michelangelo is my favorite turtle out of the four, I always liked 1987 Michelangelo and his fun-loving laid back personality compared to his other incarnations. I also liked Raphael better as a jokey sarcastic character rather than someone constantly dealing with anger issues, though I liked the other versions of Raphael as well. I always liked the teenager related things Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo did in the show like hanging out in the arcade or eating at a pizzeria.

What stood out to me about the 1987 series was not only the witty dialogue, but also Splinter’s words of wisdom and Shredder’s constant bickering with Krang. I fondly remembered all the classic TMNT video games I played and the Playmates toys I played with. That said, there’s a lot of 1987 TMNT episodes that don’t hold up well. They’re notorious for animation errors, lackluster overall animation quality, and of course, removing Michelangelo’s nunchucks. There are still plenty of 1987 TMNT episodes though that are still worth rewatching in my opinion like the entire first season, Splinter No More, and Cowabunga Shredhead.
