One joke I didn't get from "Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost"

When I first watched this episode, I didn't get the point of this dialog:

(SpongeBob is in front of the back room)
SpongeBob: Patrick, are you ready for this?
Patrick: Yes. (SpongeBob walks a couple steps forward)
SpongeBob: Okay, let’s go. Patrick, are you coming? (Patrick is facing the wrong way)
Patrick: Yes.
SpongeBob: Patrick, it’s this way.
Patrick: Where?
SpongeBob: Here.
Patrick: (turns around) Oh, coming!

Could anyone explain me the joke? I STILL can't get it. Thanks.

It's a scene I've always found kind of weird. I don't think there's any specific joke that you're missing, just that Patrick was being dumb. Unless there's some deeper meaning to this part and I don't understand it either.
