Just realized Norton was in Boating Buddies! (random post.)

Is it really worth calling minor characters by a certain name in episodes they appeared in before they received that name?

For example, I don't think of Nat as "Nat" in episodes prior to Plankton's Regular. Because of the propensity to have multiple names for stock characters, to me it seems to confuse the issue. But your mileage may vary.

I've been feeling the same way, but you expressed it better. I feel the same way about Fred/Tom/Billy/Suzy/Sadie.

There's only so many character designs they have, so to give each duplicate (for lack of a better word) the same name, even if it's not the same character doesn't really make sense. Norton wasn't in Chocolate With Nuts ("Hi, mailman!")/Hocus Pocus/Waiting/etc, it was just the mailman. Nat wasn't in April Fools/Artist Unknown/etc, he was just the yellow fish.

I've never seen Squid Plus One, but now I feel like I have to. I wonder if Norton will become the next Fred.

(and to those of you who complain about having a name for every stock character, lighten up a little. It's fun :D)
