Okay, I’m sorry if I’m getting too angry here, but I’m kind of frustrated right now.

Now, you guys know the SpongeBob episode “One Coarse Meal”, right? Well, according to some jerk faces on the SpongeBob Wiki and other sites, I’m automatically a criminal for loving THAT… ONE… EPISODE…! Why do I always get bashed for saying I like this episode?! Back when I saw this episode in 2010, I saw NO, I repeat NO problems with this episode AT ALL! And, in 2012, when I said I liked it, no one bashed me for it! In fact, I didn’t see or hear anyone give 12 craps about this episode back then. What happened that suddenly caused this episode to become overwhelmingly hated that it is now? Huh? Huh?

Then, comes 2013, where I start to see nothing but HATE, HATE, HATE, BASH, BASH, BASH, and YELL, YELL, YELL about this episode being bad because of Plankton’s “suicide”! And when I softly state I like it, people go “Oh, you’re a ::dolphin noise::ing sadist! You laughed at the ::dolphin noise:: suicide! You’re not a true SpongeBob fan!” Alright, let’s get something straight here. Just because I like “One Coarse Meal” does NOT mean I’m a sadist, it does NOT mean I’m not a “true” SpongeBob fan, and it certainly does NOT mean I like the so-called “suicide”, gosh darn it! Plankton’s suicide wasn’t even that big of deal in my opinion anyway!

I’m not trying to get people to like this episode, but COME ON! The episode was NOT… THAT… BAD!!!!!!!!!

(sighs)

I’m done yelling. I just had to let my anger out. This just sickens me. The reason I made this is because I’ve been bashed several times for liking this episode and can’t take it anymore. And people think I like it for the wrong reasons.

Sorry for the rampage. But, why can’t people be nice about what another thinks? They do the same with season 7, too, which also wasn’t as hated as it is now. It’s so annoying, especially if they try to get other to join them by bullying them on the internet. So, tell me. WHAT THE ::dolphin noise:: is wrong with liking THIS EPISODE??

I find the episode to be just ok, not that bad and not that good, but even if I did hate it, I would never bash anyone who enjoys it. Jerks.

Also I learned from personal experience that most people on the SpongeBob Wiki are ::dolphin noise::es anyway.

IMO:

It's a pretty horrible episode.

HOWEVER....

everyone's entitled to an opinion, everyone can like it if they want to, and NO ONE (the writers, the fans, the storyboard artists) deserve to be threatened for it.

and I don't even think it's among the top 5 worst episodes of the show.

I never took the suicide scene that seriously, it just seemed like kind of a comedic thing where he would get run over. If he can explode from atoms being broken in Frozen Face-Off, I think he can stand this.

Before I begin, i'll say this. I really felt bad for what happended, some people are just jerks.

The whole OCM hatrid and being disrespectful to likers or writers thing came from Mr. Enter's 2013 review of OCM, I think and ever since people were being disrespectful to wrirers and likers (thank godness Enter doesn't bash writers anymore but he still needs to apoligize all SB writers he bashed). I did find One Coarse Meal to be bad (infact even it even made me angry to writers but I'm no longer angry to writers or ep itself) and I still do but people's hatrid has become really annoying and rude. Also some people just take the ep too seriously and they forgot they are getting angry at a kids show. Yeah suicide thingy was a bit far but lets face it, almost every kid cartoon has really dark moments (done right or wrong, no matter) that are not for kids and people are being hypocritical about that.

To wrap this up, I think people need to chill and they shouldn't take SB too seriously.

And also I think it should be said that popular youtube reviewers of Spongebob episodes have helped to influence the opinions of many episodes, and this episode particularly.
True. It's hard to believe the impact that the popular reviewer's opinions have on people.

Tbh the fact that Yours Mine and Mine is so overlooked pisses me off. A Pal for Gary is claimed the worst episode, even though Gary escapes without a scratch, while YMM has Patrick at his most insufferable and torments SpongeBob. Same idea with The Card.

Also, Sun Bleached is honestly so bad to me because the episode reminds me of the tanning scene from Final Destination 3...not in a good way. Anyone who's seen it knows what I'm talking about

Yours Mine and Mine or any bad SB episode doesn't need to have the same reaction of OCM or Pet Sitter Pat.

I consider Squid Baby to be the single worst episode because it horribly mocks the victims of severe brain injuries. The kind of situation depicted in this episode happens in real life and it's horrible for everyone involved (the victim of the head trauma, and the family/loved ones of the victim.)

When I was in the process of getting my learner's permit I had to watch an educational film on the dangers of drunk driving. One of the subjects of the film was a teenage boy who was so brain-damaged after the accident that he could barely speak, could barely even say his own name, and could do little else but scream in pain and misery as his family watched helplessly.

On top of being a bad episode filled with gross-out humor and absolutely no funny jokes, it's insulting beyond all reason.

THAT BEING SAID.....

the people who wrote this episode do not deserve to be insulted, personally attacked, or sent death threats. I do not think they are bad people. At worst.... possibly uneducated and misguided.

While I do think One Coarse Meal is bad, I don't think it's the worst episode. There are much worse episodes than OCM (Stuck in the Wringer, A Pal for Gary, Plankton's Regular, etc.).

Also, people do need to chill about the show. Yes, it has bad episodes, but it's nothing for the staff to be threatened over. People make mistakes.

The episode sucks but A) the writers are not bad people just because they wrote something that sucked, and B) viewers who actually enjoy the episode are allowed to enjoy it without being insulted.
