Does anyone feel that Squidward's head was slightly wider in pre-movie SpongeBob. It just looks like it - Try comparing Squid's Day Off to Are You Happy Now?

It really always depended on the artist. His head size was never consistent. In fact, the animation itself was never consistent.

I think "on model" Squidward had a wider head. Carson Kugler, Bill Reiss and Mike Roth boarded both episodes under Paul Tibbitt and Kent Osborne's direction. My guess is that the original storyboards for MPSH were more off-model but the animators made it look more on-model. My guess is that Rough Draft has multiple animation teams.
