Show News Has SpongeBob SquarePants gotten great again? (my thoughts)

A lot of people are debating if SpongeBob is still good nowadays. Season 9 was when people said SpongeBob started getting better. But here’s what I’m gonna say:

SpongeBob SquarePants has gotten great again. But that greatness will never reach the same greatness is Seasons 1–3.

And I completely understand why people say he’s not good anymore. Hey, At least he’s watchable again.

seasons 4-8 are underrated masterpieces

and seasons 9-13 are entertaining

Personally, I like seasons 4-9 more than 10-13 but it is still watchable and has some really good episodes

Great? No. Better, at least to a point where I don't feel like jumping off a building every time my nephews want it on the TV? Yes.

I think no matter what seasons 1-3 & the 1st movie will always be the gold standard for the fans that have watched from the beginning. Those episodes have the benefit of nostalgia so it's hard to ever live up to those. To me everything from season 4 onward doesn't have the same feel as seasons 1-3 but there are a lot that come really close. I think season 12 and 13 were overall really good, but those seasons have a different feel than seasons 4-5 or even season 9. I think the best way to put it is yes, the series in its current form is great. But it's just so different from where the series started that it's impossible to compare it to that. I actually think season 13 has been one of my favorite seasons since maybe season 4 or 5.

I agree with you buddy. Plus, at least SpongeBob never relied on toilet humor.
