Agreed, Gill Hammerstein made the cut scenes for console L,C,P! really funny.
Battle For Bikini Bottom, however was the obvious breakthrough in the show's video game department. Released on Halloween 2003, THQ basically took every world explored imaginable from the show and gave the most vivid, lively colors and details to it, making us see sides of those places we never knew, including Kelp Forest, Rock Bottom, Mermalair, and Flying Dutchman's Graveyard. And Hacienda Post with that musical score, boy, the musical score for the game was top notch. Personally, I also like the explorable "hub" world that is Bikini Bottom/Conch Street, where separate roads branch off to the Taxi entrances to each world. That is pretty neat. The spatulas concept is also great.
......Goofy Goober Tokens would also "share" (more like steal) this concept a year later. A much more closed concept (no hub this time, focusing on the movie), the game actually is neat even with no open world, although the animation, shading, graphics and musical score are pretty much one with it's sister video game of the previous year. The cruise bubble became the Sonic Wave Guitar, and so on. Still, an excellent game, also did show brilliant sides of these worlds (such as that toxic area place in "Now That We're Men" and "Shell City, Dead Ahead".) Also the new sliding/driving concept really became a main focus in the game. You drive through Bikini Bottom under attack, the Thug Tug parking garage, a Goofy Goober trance dream sequence, slide on Shell City....water hoses?, and drive again in Plankton's Bikini Bottom. The difficulty is also much higher than the game's E rating. Welcome to Planktopolis, Minions, is indeed one of the game's harder levels. Overall, it is an okay game, though. Nothing special, most concepts are taken from BFBB.
L,C,P! breaks the multi-player barrier! The game has fast-action, fun mini-games, and high-tailing storylines and cast roles. A casting director shark helps you decide who fits the costume the best. Absolutely neat game.
Creature From the Krusty Krab.....well? This is probably that game that I love most, and that is because it is it's own storyline. By that, I mean it tells itself, unravels itself to you as you play through each level. The morbidness factor, the acid-trip style graphics, characters and places make me really love this as well. I'll give you a hint....it's all a dream. I absolutely love the charming graphics, even if not as neat or detailed as BFBB or The Movie, this game is really entertaining, and you'll wonder about video games in SB when you play this game. Morbid, dark, and just.....awesome. My personal favorite.
Atlantis SquarePantis sucked.
That's my review for "The Main Five Videogames of SpongeBob"!
