Have there been any episodes of the show that just freak you out? There have been quite a few for me. When I was 5 or 6, none of the episodes scared me, but had you shown me some of the episodes from later seasons, I may have gotten nightmares. These are some episodes that really scare me.

- Ghost Host: The whole scene with the Dutchman trying to scare Spongebob freaks me out. I thought the episode had a good premise with not too good execution. Had they toned down the scariness of the episode, maybe I would have liked it more.

- Boating Buddies: The creepiness of Spongebob's breathing really got to me in this episode. It scares me all too much. It also doesn't help that I hate the episode.

- Squidward in Clarinetland: I quite like this episode because the trippy scenes are like a combination of Courage the Cowardly Dog and LSD, with a little bit of Regular Show thrown in there, even though the only thing that had come out at the time of the episode was the pilot, which I hadn't seen yet. Still, the episode does kind of give me the creeps.

- Face Freeze: The faces are a bit creepy. More so Squidward's than anyone else's.

- inSPONGEiac: A really trippy dream sequence. I quite liked that, but I really didn't like much else from the episode. Even if it does kind of scare me.

- Good Neighbors: Really sadist endings scare me, and this one is no exception. Not a fan of Squidward's house coming alive, that freaks me out.

- Squid's Visit: The scariest episode of the show, bar none. Especially the breakdown from Squidward, that freaked me out. Still, I cannot sleep soundly after watching that episode.

- One Coarse Meal: The messed up relationship between Krabs and Plankton, and how much of a monster Krabs is, really is what scares me. The fact that a character could be so downright evil, is really what scares me from this episode.

So, yeah. I would like to hear episodes that scared you. I'm sure there are a few.

This episode is always referred to as "creepy" and yes, I do agree that it was trippy as hell, but they pulled it off in an extremely great way. They could've filled it with gross-out gags, but they instead chose to go the creative route, which I think worked out incredibly well. It's certainly one of the highlights of Season 7, and one of the most memorable episodes of the show, IMO.

None of them scare me, but give me a 'Ick!' feeling:
The Splinter - It was just so gross, especially when spongebob's finger grew.
Gary's new pal (Is that what it's called?) - when the new pet had Gary in his tongue.
Someone is in the kitchen with sandy - The whole episode just creeps me out, I hate this episode so much because of that >_>

THIS IS THE PERFECT TOPIC FOR ME!!! I am morbid :D :D

Nasty patty- c'mon, you know it ;)
Are you happy now? - we all know why o_O
One coarse meal- once again.... We all know why...

And indeed a lot of those episodes make me feel like I am on LSD... All those trippy colors.... O_o

Episodes don't really scare me, but Good Neighbors reveals and puts a new spin on the Squidward-SpongeBob-Patrick dynamic that has always kind of scared me, I guess. The fact that SpongeBob and Patrick have no idea how they make Squidward feel until he goes insane and just snaps has always kinda freaked me out- It was something that went against the core element of the show and took a look at the opposite side of SpongeBob's happiness. Is it this happiness that clouds his judgement to the point that he can't understand that Squidward just doesn't like him? I'm probably reading way too much into the episode, but the implications it brought up by the scene where Squidward shrieks at the two in Good Neighbors never sat right with me.

I also am creeped out a bit by this line in Squid's Visit: "He copied all 492 of my self portraits! ....And they're better than mine...."

Nevermind the fact that the episode has completely butchered SpongeBob's character at that point- It seems to suggest that Squidward begins to doubt himself. And this is the one and only time that has ever happened. Squidward has always been a pompous guy that loves himself, and when he says that line...It's just really hard to watch. Not to mention that the line has no point and doesn't move the plot along and isn't even funny. I don't like Squid's Visit and that scene only cements it. That scene always creeped me out.

"Nasty Patty" doesn't really creep me out because I've seen it so many times.

When I mentioned LSD, I didn't make it clear, but I was referring to the video game for PlayStation One.

Squid's Visit is more disturbing than King Ramses from Courage. o.o

I thought Gone and Not Normal had an eerie tone.

Has anyone noticed that some episodes are darker, bot not necessarily scarier? That's Nasty Patty for me. ;)

Oh yeah, Squid's Visit was creepy, the fact Spongebob copied every single detail of Squidward's house wasn't even funny.

The only way to redeem Squid's Visit.. is if we get an episode that nods to this, playing it as a serious episode. It will be EXTREMELY hard to do that though.. so...

I just watched Doing Time. I just realized that Mrs. Puff actually gave in to insanity, while fighting it during the episode. Being more and more understanding WILL hurt you. o.o

I find "Are You Happy Now?" very disturbing because of the suicide jokes. It feels very dark and out-of-place. When I watch SpongeBob I want to see some goofy slapstick fun, not Squidward putting his head in an oven.

Then there's episodes like "Whelk Attack" where we see characters being chewed and swallowed with no indication that they're still alive until the end.

"Musical Doodle" gets pretty weird. Because of SpongeBob's breakdown and the fact that there's an actual worm in his brain.

"Graveyard Shift" and "Nasty Patty" revolved around someone being "dead." Definitely had a dark tone.

"Squid's Visit" is another example. I wasn't fond of SpongeBob's breathing over the phone, and how he knew about all the nooks & crannies in Squidward's house. Even little things, like the pillow and the chip in the wall.

"Are You Happy Now?" had those suicide jokes and Squidward looking like he was going to kill himself. Those scenes felt like too much for SpongeBob.

Graveyard Shift. It was a dark episode. The ending is just scary. Nosferatu, FTW.

Squid's Visit. It is basically just psychological horror.

Are You Happy Now? is also pretty dark, as it revolves around suicide.

Squidward In Clarinetland. As creative and interesting as it is, it's still pretty creepy.

One Coarse Meal - Krabs drives Plankton to suicide almost. That's just.....terrible.
Squid's Visit - Spongebob becomes an extreme stalker in a terrifying way. Seriously, Squidward should have called the police especially when Spongebob was breathing like a rapist over the phone.
