Casey Alexander was a layout artist on the first Spongebob movie and he was a storyboard artist on the show for a long time, contributing to many episodes. He works on Uncle Grandpa, and also worked as an animator for the "Jammers" pilot, which is now nominated for an Emmy.

His work is awesome. He's a great animator, his drawings have so much personality, and he clearly loves what he does.

In short, Casey Alexander is awesome. I love his work! Stay tuned for a Zeus Cervas appreciation post. We need one.

Eh, he's okay if I'm honest.
I think he's good in Uncle Grandpa but pretty bad in Spongebob. I've noticed that most of the bad Spongebob episodes are written by both Casey and Zeus.

I LOVE ALL OF HIS SPONGEBOB EPISODES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

I've not seen much of Uncle Grandpa outside of the pilot, though.

I will agree with Spongebob, I wonder why putting those two together mostly leads to bad things. While we're at it, UG isn't quite my cup of tea. I'm not saying it's bad, though my feelings are along the lines of Pieguyrulz's feelings towards Regular Show.

That was very nice of you BabySmitty. Casey Alexander deserves an Appreciation Post, especially after the harassment he received last year and all of the mean stuff people said about him. What did a nice man, like Casey Alexander, do to deserve to be hated. I am so glad I followed him on Twitter and that he followed me. (Did I also mention that he is a cat lover like me?) <3

One thing I have to say to Casey Alexander is, Mr. Alexander, keep up the good work. :)

Second picture looks like something I'd draw. Except not as great as that.

Casey Alexander seems like a very nice, friendly, down-to-earth dude.

Aww, he's a cat person? How sweet.

I kind of disagree with this. While Casey did help write some of the worst post-movie episodes, he also helped write some of the most entertaining post-movie episodes. Looking at his storyboards on his Tumblr shows that he likes to toy with surreal visuals and comedic timing. And I really like the way he draws Spongebob. He draws him so weirdly.

And this is coming from someone who genuinely doesn't like the post-movie episodes.

Yeah, I'll give you that. Maybe it's just that I'm too used to his name being plastered on duds. Though, he's got a Tumblr? Oh booooyyy, part of me is surprised that site hasn't torn him limb from limb yet! Not that I would like to see that, just stuff I've heard about Tumblr in general. His SB drawings are interesting, though I wish he'd ditch the cheek look as I've never liked it personally. So, yeah.

I don't mind the cheek look, I think it's pretty cute. Plus, he's been drawn with his cheeks facing inward (albeit on-and-off) since season 2. Either Carl Greenblatt or Erik Wiese started it. It started with "Dying for Pie."

He deserves the appreciation in my honest opinion. His drawings are certainly fascinating. Even if he wrote the most worst Spongebob episodes he's still a human being and doesn't deserve the mean spirited lackluster comments (threaten, no one deserves it).

I guess with the cheeks, it depends on what Spongebob's facial expression is. The ones you showed at the top are actually good examples (no offense). They're just not needed and it kind of looks like he's in the middle of chewing something. It rubs me the wrong way.

I see where you're coming from. It's like Spongebob's droopy nose from a lot of post-movie episodes. Too much of a weird visual quirk is just annoying to look at. It's why people are so irked by Patrick's single tooth (something which I personally don't really mind much though.)

i hate him so much and his drawings is total barnaclehead.....

just kidding :p

he still be patient even much of post-movie haters and that bad cold-hearted reviewer mock him, salute of him :)

I enjoyed loads of his episodes, but his work is much better on Uncle Grandpa.

Honestly, I wish he would have written more episodes without Zeus following season 4. Maybe the end result would have had him having a better track record, and thus, wouldn't have the Zeus bias. My favorite episode of his is Patrick Smartpants. My least... Well, you know the answer to that.

No, no I don't.

I feel bad for Casey and Zeus cause they got bashed a lot after the releases of Pet Sitter Pat, Little Yellow Book, and some other poor episode that just didn't make the cut and people hate him and Zeus for that and from what I know now Casey Alexander is on UG ( not my cup of tea) he had his fair share of poor and amazing episodes ( SCITS, Mrs Puff You're Fired, The Bad Guy Club For Villans, and some other decent ones...

Casey Alexander and Zeus Cervas didn't work on Little Yellow Book.

Casey Alexander was a great and underrated SpongeBob writer. Looking back, there were a few creations of his I didn't like, but he also wrote terrific episodes like Back To The Past (amazing!!), Overbooked, Bummer Vacation, Friend Or Foe, and Chum Fricassee and Sand Castles In The Sand and Mermaid Man Begins. I also love his work as an artist. His expressions are so much fun to look at.
