Best Villain Songs

Lord Hater's guitar riffs.

Not really a "song" per se, but it had to be said. :p

Here are a couple of songs from the niche anime games that I play:

They're pretty awesome if I do say so myself

I have to agree that most villain songs are great.

I also love Hellfire, Friends on the Other Side (that movie was so underrated, its one of Disney's best in a long time, IMO), Dark of the Night (Anastasia), Be Prepare (The Lion King, I can't believe it wasn't already mentioned!), and many others.

Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera too. Hehe, ok, it doesn't really count as its not so much a 'villain song' as it is a song sung BY the villain, but I couldn't resist mentioning it anyway.

A thousand times yes to the bolded part! I love Princess and the Frog, but hardly anyone seems to remember it!

Well, there's Sweatpants by Childish Gambino mainly because of the line "Rich kid a-hole, paint me as a villain" and because it describes perfectly those arrogant wealthy characters in cartoons that always seem to piss me off (oddly enough, most of these characters are little girls).

Kiss Me, Son of God and Reprehensible by They Might Be Giants could also make good villain songs, they just haven't been used as such yet. :P

As for ones actually used in cartoons, I do like Mr. Pants from Home Movies, You Will Obey from the Best Day Ever CD, and This Day Aria from MLP (speaking of The Little Mermaid, I've heard this song actually kind of rips off Ursula's villain song). Eh, I still like it.

As someone who has seen a lot of musicals growing up, Master of the House by the Thernadiers from Les Miserables is really catchy. Poor Judd from Oklahoma is almost too sad for words, particularly on replay. Since the Artful Dodger is supposed to be a villain in the original novel, would Consider Yourself count as a villain song?

In a meta-example, there's Springtime for Hitler sung by the Nazis in the play-within-a-play The Producers has to be heard to be believed. Even without the visuals that song is incredible. On the instrumental side, the Imperial March from Star Wars. Before you even see Vader you know everything you need to just by listening to it.

Since I was recently on a Disney binge from watching The Jungle Book:

Gaston. He fired a single-shot musket three times without reloading during that song.

Be Prepared and Poor Unfortunate Souls are what got me into cacklingly evil, simpering villains as a whole. Scar and Ursula flouncing around like a fashion model/jiggly drag queen are too ridiculously hammy for words.

Since no one ever talks about The Jungle Book, Shere Khan's villain song The Mighty Hunters was cut for being too dark, but you can still hear it on YouTube. And his one-line song with the vultures...can regular keyboards make a sound that low?

Anyone a little disappointed that with all the filler in Sleeping Beauty we never got to hear Maleficent sing?
