There is a new episode airing November 11: Atlantis SquarePants. At least we know something about the show and when episodes are going to air. Of course, that doesn't mean that November 11 will be the next new episode but that's great news, anyways!! :frenchblank:

David Bowie exclusively revealed details of his participation in an upcoming half hour special episode of SpongeBob SquarePants in his journal last year. (10.05.2006 NEWS: SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS IN NEW BOWIE JOURNAL) Now it gives us great pleasure to be able to exclusively reveal that this episode, Atlantis Square Pants, in which he plays the part of Lord Royal Highness, will air on Nickelodeon in the USA on 11/11/07.

David completed his contribution in October last year, and, as readers of his journal will know, it's a project he was very excited to be involved with: "Oh Yeah!! We, the family, are thrilled" ...and understandably so.

I've also found mention of an upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants book, My Trip to Atlantis, and the following details regarding a game entitled SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis, both of which may or may not be connected to the Bowie episode, but both being released toward the end of the year too.:

SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis -- The game will follow SpongeBob and the rest of the Bikini Gang as they leave Bikini Bottom and journey to the legendary city of Atlantis. Players will discover the treasures of Atlantis, while experiencing new game mechanics and multiplayer features. SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 2 system, Wii, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance this fall. In addition, SpongeBob SquarePants: Atlantis Treasures (working title) is scheduled to release for various mobile carriers.

i hope it's an hour long tv movie special because spongebob is the only nicktoon so far that has not had a tv movie yet. i understand that other ones like rocko and kablam! and a few others haven't either but the ones that did because they were more popular and it's about time spongebob should have one. anyone agree. i mean c'mon if it's a half hour your wanting more than just a quicky like in the past like where's gary and lost in time. we could see more of an adventure like the movie but have it to where we see more interesting things i can't think of any right now but for example like the fairly oddparents channel chasers type thing. i know he might have one in the future. maybe lets hope but we would like to see something good. just a thought.

Aside from site competition, It's surprising that none of us have really thought of Spongebob going to Atlantis as an episode idea before. Plus, David Bowie rocks (see Venture Brothers for why). I hope they end up making an hour-length episode , 2-part episodes or a Tv movie. Spongebob is Nick's only hit now... he deserves the treatment!
