Well, you know, every single episode for the most part has had TONS of SpongeBob. An episode that manages to get rid of SpongeBob for the most part was Plankton's Army, and if you ask me, it was executed brilliantly. What do you guys think about an episode having NO SpongeBob? How do you think it would be executed?

off topic but 10000 posts!! I NEED A LIFE

Well, it could be just decent. There are episodes with very little Spongebob, and they either work out top 15-worthy (Plankton's Army), or they need improvement (Rise and Shine).

I wouldn't like it personally, because SpongeBob is my favourite character and the main reason I watch the show. I'm not fond of episodes like "Plankton's Army" for this reason.

I wouldn't want that. The show is called "SpongeBob SquarePants" for a reason :P

But it would depend on who the episode is focusing on. A lot of those episodes where SpongeBob barely appears tend to be about Mr. Krabs and Plankton. Maybe one focusing on Squidward could work, I could see him having a lot of interesting storylines

I'd actually be cool with that. They proved they could create one in Plankton's Army, where he barely appears at all.

I would not like it at all and plus, it would ruin his record of being in every episode =O

SpongeBob makes each episode 20%-50% better.

I prefer a minor role for SpongeBob rather than no SpongeBob at all. SpongeBob wouldn't be SpongeBob without SpongeBob. :p I personally wouldn't mind as long as the plot is good and stays relevant to the show itself. If SpongeBob were to play a minor role in an episode, I would like to see another character's past be revealed to him, such as the origins of Squidward and Squilliam's rivalry, Sandy's inspiration to live underwater, where Pearl's mother came from, etc.

Gone 2- No Patrick Day is celebrated and Patrick is left alone.

Absent: SpongeBob

Will happen.

An episode with no SpongeBob at all would be too weird for me. I think he should appear in every episode at least briefly, it would feel wrong if he didn't, but I wouldn't mind more episodes where his role is minor. It could be interesting.

An episode would be fine but, he's the star of the show so it shouldn't be a recurring thing.

Well obviously just an episode or 2, it would definitely not be a recurring thing.

In the SpongeBob Experience book, they even take pride that SpongeBob has been in every single episode. It's sort of a streak with the show that I'm sure they won't let go of. That being said, what would be the point of SpongeBob not being there? We already have tons of episodes where he's barely in it and the story is executed excellently. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter to me.

and nick did that with a few shows like INVADER ZIM! He was gone 3 episodes in like 30 episodes in over 300 (I count individual segments live with it) SB has been gone none. I think SB can be gone every now and then

New Leaf for example. He was only there for like the first 4 minutes and gone for the rest. That episode was really good when it barley had SB in it but I still don't want his streak to be broken :P

I used to think it would be interesting to have an episode where SpongeBob doesn't appear at all, but now that I think about it, I think I would rather him appear in every single episode. But I don't mind the occasion episode where he only plays a minor role, like they've had before.
