Cool to see King Neptune for the first time in this episode.
I always laugh at when Patrick is talking to Neptune about the challenges

King Neptune: You shall be tested with a challenge!
Patrick: Bring it on! SpongeBob can handle any... Ouch.
King Neptune: Your friend's arrogance will cost you dearly. There will be two challenges.
Patrick: Only two? What are two challenges to someone like SpongeBob?
King Neptune: Three challenges!
Patrick: Three? Three challenges is nothing. Might as well make it 500 challenges!
King Neptune: Enough!!
Patrick: He'll settle for one.

One of my favorite quotes of the series.

This episode had a good plot: SpongeBob pulls the spatula out, and King Neptune challenges him to a cooking contest.

Great humor, too. 8/10
 
Yes, definitely a good premise. King Neptune was a big fat meanie, but hey, he couldn't say his Krabby Patties sucked! And I actually liked how Patrick (without his head in the clouds) was the only supportive one.

This was one of the best episodes of the series it was really cool and funny still one of the episodes that is never shown anymore :(
 
I thought this episode was boring and lackluster. It had 1 or 2 chuckles, but that is. The only thing that gives this it's score is a creative plot. 5.1/10
 
This episode was OK, but definitely forgettable. It had a few jokes with an OK plotline.
 
Out of the forgettable episodes of season one this is my favorite
I can't really explain why I just love this episode

I actually don't mind this episode. Sure it's not the most memorable episode of season 1, but it had some very funny moments like Patrick's having his face on his pants and King Neptune trying to find out who pulled the spatula from the grease. It also had a very creative story. 8/10

Like it's partner, kinda weak, although the part where Neptune opens the portal to a guy showering was pretty funny. 6.5/10
 
Not one of the best season 1 episodes, but I do think it's a little underrated. Biggest problem with it is Neptune's not that great of a character, but the humor in this episode works. 8.5/10.
