Some of this episode had some 'Middlemost Post' design vibes and I don't like that. I miss the older season designs of all the characters and their expressions, like season 1-6

I think this is a good episode. It's cool that they got the Interpretative dance. 7.5/10

Weird, because John Trabbic no longer works on Spongebob since he announced Middlemost, but there are still certain moments where the designs are very similar of that show.

Sometimes, all you need is some good physical comedy and a nice setting to make a solid episode. The ending was so random, though. Overall, one of the better eps of S13.

Good episode 7/10

The humor is excellent I laughed a lot here. One of the shows funniest episodes

A Good one overall

I like this episode. The slapstick is very good in it. It lacks a proper story but it's still entertaining enough to make up for it.

I think there was some missed potential for a great Krusty Krab episode here. This episode wasn't bad, but a majority of the episode is them building this ship. If that was the plot of the episode that would be fine, but towards the end they start selling Krabby Patties and suddenly that is the plot of the episode. Now, the scenes with them selling patties on the boat are great (other than the sea sickness gags which aren't funny). However, while I understand why they didn't make that the whole focus of the episode, I feel that if they gave those scenes a bit more time, the episode would've been a lot more enjoyable. We've seen SpongeBob making Krabby Patties a million times, so if they're able to mix it up and make it entertaining, that's a really good thing that deserves more than just a minute of runtime. After that, however, the episode starts to feel rushed. Obviously the ship was gonna sink (it happens in practically every cartoon episode involving a ship, including SpongeBob VS The Big One in the past), but they could've done a much better job with the way it's executed here (I just don't think that Bubble Bass is a funny character in this context). Then at the end some sea monster comes out of nowhere with no explanation or build up and just orders all their patties... ...what? This ending could've worked if there was actually some sort of explanation here. It's not even one of those random out of nowhere endings, it's just shown off as perfectly normal, which needs an explanation in order to work. The episode is alright, and there are a few moments I really enjoyed, but there's a few issues that keep it from being something that I can say I enjoyed from start to finish.

Hmm…yeah, I’ve got nothing. No predictions about this episode, no idea what this episode about, literally nothing. Not even the title is helping me out here, because all I can think of is “The Nitwitting” and I swear to god if it’s an episode like that, I may actually be too tired to watch it.

We begin with Squidward and SpongeBob looking a bit worse for wear…I’m telling you this show is anti-capitalist guys! See, look at what capitalism does to you! (Just to be clear I am absolutely joking lol…kind of). Even SpongeBob is a soulless husk. Somehow Mr. Krabs has energy (a critique of bosses never actually doing real work like the wage workers, perhaps? Okay okay I’ll stop now), and even shows interest in what his two workers have planned for the weekend. Oh boy, I wonder how he’s going to hijack those plans. I love that polishing Gary’s shell is a source of joy for SpongeBob—too cute! Squidward’s bit was funny because of how pretentious it is. And as I expected, Mr. Krabs does hijack their plans a bit by offering them a trip on his new yacht. Mr. Krabs buying a yacht? That would never happen, and I cannot believe Squidward would ever think Mr. Krabs would do something like that. Also, I can already see the claims of a “Clams” rip-off now. Let’s all calm ourselves and trust the process.

Anyway, as I expected, Mr. Krabs cheaped out a little bit with the yacht by buying a giant version of one of those model ships basically, that SpongeBob and Squidward are then forced to assemble. Gotta work for their vacay, I guess. I like how Mr. Krabs has on a little sailor shirt, that’s a fun little change to his wardrobe. And SpongeBob in his “Ripped Pants” fit? Love it. SpongeBob and Squidward struggle with building the yacht for a few minutes. There’s not really much for me to talk about here, I found most of the gags pretty funny, and if not funny then at least enjoyable enough. Finally, SpongeBob and Squidward manage to get the ship built, and with a coat of paint it looks actually good, somehow. Mr. Krabs naming the ship the S.S. Sea-Cret Formula is just corny enough to be so funny.

I knew the vacation was too good to be true…because turns out that this wasn’t a vacation at all, just the grand opening of the Krusty Krab’s newest venture—a restaurant on water. And of course Patrick is their first customer. He’s always at the scene of the crime. The little interaction between SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs was cute, and I’m going to include it in my quasi-father-son crumbs. Also, I was just about to say that this part of the episode reminded me of “SpongeBob vs. The Big One”, but it seems the episode itself realized that considering that they included a Twitch cameo here.

Seems all good things must come to an end, because the S.S. Sea-Cret Formula ends up getting sunk by Bubble Bass. I love how SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward all contribute to the drama of the sinking ship lol. And hey, at least we got one good thing out of the ship sinking—a gorgeous background alert! And also a random appearance of a sea monster?? Don’t know what that one was about, felt like a very sudden ending.

“Abandon Twits” was a pretty enjoyable episode. I thought I’d get bored of having most of the episode be spent with Squidward and SpongeBob building the ship, but nah, that actually was probably the best part of the episode. I pretty much liked the whole thing except the very ending, because it felt too sudden and out of place. We could’ve just had the ship resurface and had some joke or something, idk.

Episode Tier: Amazing
Episode Score: 9/10
