I wanted to see just how…special SpongeBob OCs looked in comparision to other colourful cartoon franchises like Sonic and MLP and…the bad thing is I wasn't disappointed.

Can't say I mingle too much in the matters of other people's OCs. Gotta give some of these youngsters a break. Making your own character takes a while and there will be rough drafts of designs for ages to come. As you get older, your skills with drawing characters and coming up with personalities likely will improve. Coming from someone who is very dedicated to an almost considered OC (they only appeared once in a series, but have an important role and wasn't given personality) for the past 2 years now and has scrapped ideas. As well as another character's design OC. I went as far as to show the series' creator them a few times, because it means so much to me. And sometimes they appreciate your efforts.

That being said, I just usually don't like when people insert their characters (or rather themselves as a character) into fanfiction that much. The reason being is you shouldn't make a character that has no flaws and that everyone around them likes. That's just not realistic and doesn't do anything really for the audience. You gotta flesh them out without them being one dimensional with just one trait. :P

oops didn't mean to get so delved into this
